Omaha Hi/Lo 8 (also called Omaha Eight-or-Better) is a split pot game where the best high hand and the best qualifying low hand split the pot.

Game Play
Play is identical to regular Omaha, with these exceptions:
The Pot is Split
- Half the pot goes to the best HIGH hand
- Half the pot goes to the best LOW hand (must qualify with 8-high or better)
- The same player can win both halves
Low Hand Qualification
Low Qualifier: The low hand must be 8-or-better to qualify. This means the highest card in your low hand must be an 8 or lower. Straights and flushes don't count against low hands.
Low Hand Rankings
In low hand poker (A-5 lowball), the lowest hand wins. Aces are LOW for low hands. Straights and flushes don't count (A-2-3-4-5 is a perfect low).

Making Two Hands Simultaneously
In Omaha Hi/Lo, you can use DIFFERENT combinations of your hole cards for the high and low hands. You must use exactly 2 of your 4 hole cards for EACH hand (one for high, one for low - they can be the same cards or different).

- High Hand: with = Pair of 5s
Strategy Tips
- Look for starting hands with both high and low potential
- Cards like A-2 are extremely valuable
- A-2-3 or A-2-4 starting hands are premium in Hi/Lo
- Be careful when betting - you want to win both ways or scoop
- On flops with 3 low cards, the low hand is often already locked up
